How to Take Care of Leather Products?

Time to time care has to be taken for your leather. At the end it is a natural material made of tanned animal skin. But if you are not aware about how to care of leather apparel then that's not your mistake. Let's make you aware with smart and technical caring tips for leather apparels. There are different types of caring methods from home therapy to professional cleaning. If you're unconfident or fresher in home cleaning please skip idea. Don't victimize your leather apparel as you may fail and it may cost high.

1.    First and foremost when travelling, maintain your leather apparel away from dust, don't ever wrap it in any kind of plastic material. Any plastic material is worst enemy of leather. Plastic creates moisture in leather, which makes it unhygienic, its results would be seen on skin as rashes, itching and many other skin problem.
2.    Keeping leather apparels out of moisture doesn't mean it should be placed in dry atmosphere or condition. Regular stay in dry condition would lead any leather apparel to crack. If you can't hide your leather apparel from dry climate, apply balance quality of leather conditioner on it and prevent it from cracking.
3.    Any leather cleaning product that includes alcohol should not be preferred for leather cleaning. It will drop down the life of your leather apparel.
4.    Any kind of harsh or mild spirits should be avoided even if your favorite leather apparel has got tough stain. Spirits kills the color and may even leave some unlikely patches behind. If you have really tough stains go for professional cleaning.
5.    If you had children's party at your place and are worried about food stains they left on your leather material, no need to worry. With damp wet cloth softly remove the stains.
6.    Your son or husband tends keep their garage kit on leather sofa and the grease and oil stains has made it messy. Sprinkle some chalk powder on it and leave it for 24 hrs or more if required and remove the stains slowly and lightly.
7.    Removing any kind of stains from leather apparel with hard material like nail, stick, pin, knife or blade is not at all recommendable.
8.    Apply leather conditioner at least three or four times in year on leather apparel to increase its life and impression.
9.    Direct exposure to light such as sun light will absorb the shine, and color of leather apparel may drop.
10.   Hang any kind of leather coat, jacket, skirt or pant on hanger. It will help to maintain its proper shape throughout.
11.   To wash leather apparel use only and only leather specific detergent product. Not a product which can be used for another fabric or material also.
