Well, I guess it all depends on where you live. Sadly.I wroked at a dealership in central CA. There are a lot of farmers, vinyard owners, and ranch owners in that part of the country. I have sold $ 100k cars to guys who looked like they didnt have 2 nickels to rub together. But I treated them seriously and with respect, because I knew a lot of those guys in jeans and dirty boots have a ton of greenbacks.Now, would that rancher be treated the same in say, Beverly Hills? Probably not. I bet no one there would give him the time of day. So I guess the safe answer would be to dress comfortably, but not sloppy. Sure, we can all say that if you are treated badly because of your clothes to leave. But you do want them to at least give you some respect and take you seriously, right?I would not show up in formal wear, but comfortable cloths, as if you were going out to a casual dinner with the family.Long and short though regardless of how you dress, if you are not treated with respect and taken seriously, leave.
